Who we are
Sean Curran Art is the online shop of artist Seán Curran, based at 65 Aylmer Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland. We are responsible for the personal data collected through seancurranart.com. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at seancurranart@gmail.com.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number (optional), billing and delivery address, and the details of what you bought.
- When you pay by card: your payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
- If you create an account: your login details and order history. Your password is stored in encrypted form.
- When you buy a gift voucher: the recipient's name and email address, so we can send it to them.
- When you contact us: your name, email address and message.
- If you sign up to our newsletter: your email address.
- When you browse the site: with your permission, cookies that tell us how the site is used and how our ads perform (see Cookies below).
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To process and deliver your order, and to contact you about it (necessary to fulfil our contract with you).
- To keep tax and accounting records (a legal obligation).
- To answer your enquiries and protect the shop against fraud (our legitimate interests).
- To send our newsletter and to use analytics and marketing cookies, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies
We use three types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: these keep the shop working (your basket, checkout and login) and are always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand which paintings and pages people visit. Only used if you accept.
- Marketing: Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measure our ads and show you relevant ones. Only used if you accept.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Who we share your data with
We only share what is needed with:
- our card payment provider, Stripe
- delivery services, who receive your name and address so they can deliver your order
- our website hosting provider
- Google and Meta, only if you have accepted analytics or marketing cookies
We never sell your personal data.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers, such as Google, Meta and Stripe, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on legal safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records: six years, as required by Irish tax law.
- Customer accounts: until you ask us to close your account.
- Enquiries: up to two years.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email seancurranart@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
